MES Engineer (Manufacturing Execution Systems)

Location: New London, North Carolina, United States; relocation assistance is provided.

Base salary: $80,000–$124,000 USD per year, plus participation in an annual bonus or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Manage daily MES issues and coordinate resolution with engineers, managers, supervisors, operators, and other team members.
• Design and develop MES front-end applications using Ignition, and analyze existing code for improvements.
• Define, design, lead, test, and deploy MES software implementations across manufacturing operations, business units, and sites.
• Translate business and operational requirements into functional specifications and support production execution, routing, work instructions, data collection, quality, and traceability.
• Support site deployment, change management, training, adoption, continuous improvement, automation, standardization, and post-deployment enhancements.
• Communicate technical concepts, project updates, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of software development experience.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Technical understanding of computer programming and application development.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
• Demonstrated project management skills, including timeline adherence and stakeholder communication.
• Knowledge of Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Microsoft SQL databases, HTML, Java, and Expression languages.
• Experience implementing software applications in production and supporting daily software operations.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, tag structures, and data collection; SCADA and MES software such as Ignition.
• Knowledge of ERP functionality, bills of materials, part and product configuration, and production scheduling or sequencing.
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Fusion ERP.
• Meticulous, conscientious, analytical, focused, and self-starting approach.
