Senior Systems Engineer (Datacenter Infrastructure)

Salary: $117,100–$175,700 USD annualized

What you will do

• Design, plan, implement, and maintain datacenter and server-room infrastructure covering servers, networking, rack power, cooling, and connectivity.
• Plan capacity, rack space, equipment layouts, power, cooling, and network requirements with facilities stakeholders.
• Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, network equipment, and associated rack infrastructure.
• Coordinate infrastructure changes and maintenance with facilities, security, engineering, and operations.
• Manage licenses, hardware and software upgrades, system updates, lifecycle replacements, documentation, inventories, labeling, and cable-management records.
• Identify infrastructure risks, capacity constraints, and reliability issues while following change-control, safety, physical-security, and facility-access procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of overall technical experience, or comparable education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a datacenter, server room, or comparable critical infrastructure environment.
• Experience planning datacenter or server-room infrastructure, including power, cooling, and equipment layouts.
• Prior experience supporting infrastructure in a SCIF and/or SAPF.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, or troubleshooting servers and networking equipment.
• Experience maintaining infrastructure documentation, equipment inventories, and configuration records.
• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required.

Nice to have

• CCNA certification.
• Advanced networking knowledge covering routing, switching, network design, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with server, network, rack power, or cooling technologies from relevant vendors.
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, asset and license management, and change-control processes.
