Director, Security Engineering & Architecture (AI)

Location: Miami, Florida, United States; primarily a sedentary office position with physical and office/site presence requirements.

What you will do

• Lead the Security Engineering & Architecture function, setting its vision, structure, culture, roadmap, budget, and delivery priorities.
• Define and implement security architecture and engineering capabilities across hirify.global's hybrid, multi-cloud environment.
• Apply AI, generative AI, and automation to threat detection, vulnerability management, security testing, incident response, and engineering workflows.
• Partner with AI Engineering, enterprise architecture, data, platform, DevOps, and application engineering teams to establish AI security guardrails and secure-by-default architectures.
• Embed security into CI/CD pipelines and software development through DevSecOps, automated security gates, reusable patterns, and internal tooling.
• Lead vulnerability management, security reviews, technology selection, vendor oversight, posture metrics, and collaboration with Security Operations, IAM, and GRC.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and leading multiple high-performing security teams through managers and senior technical leads.
• At least 5 years of experience across security or technology disciplines, including at least 3 years in technology leadership and experience overseeing multiple teams.
• Strong knowledge across information security domains, security frameworks, and regulations, including NIST CSF.
• Enterprise security architecture experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP, covering IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with modern software architecture, microservices and API-based development, infrastructure-as-code, scripting, and security tooling development.
• Deep experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum delivery, application security, infrastructure and cloud security, zero trust, data protection, and vulnerability management.
• Working knowledge of securing AI systems and frameworks such as OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, or MITRE ATLAS.
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, contractors, or managed service resources and communicating complex security topics to executive, business, and technical audiences.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.

Nice to have

• CISSP or CISM certification.
• Engineering and architecture certifications such as CCSP, CCSK, SABSA, TOGAF, or cloud vendor-specific security credentials.
