Senior/Staff Technical Product Manager, Operational Design Domain (ODD) Tools (AI)

Location: Foster City, CA, United States; hybrid workplace

Base salary: $212,000–$267,000 per year, excluding RSUs, stock appreciation rights, and possible sign-on bonus.

Zoox is developing a fully autonomous, zero-emissions vehicle and mobility-as-a-service platform.

What you will do

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the Operational Design Domain planning platform, aligned with release milestones and city expansion.
• Evolve ODD control from manual, annotation-heavy workflows to scalable, policy-driven configuration.
• Define validation gates, guardrails, traceability, and precision and recall standards for road attributes controlling vehicle operating areas.
• Partner with Driving Behavior Product Management, Mapping, Safety, Data Science, Engineering, and Program Management teams to improve planning speed, data quality, and decision-making.
• Lead the full product lifecycle, including PRDs, prioritization, backlog management, alpha validation, incremental releases, and release quality gates.
• Define and report KPIs including adoption, Plan of Record accuracy, time saved, and platform performance while reducing production regressions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Technical Product Management experience, preferably with complex, data-heavy internal tools or enterprise-scale platforms.
• Ability to discuss system architecture and data models with senior engineers.
• Proven experience defining validation, metrics, and quality bars for data that drives high-stakes decisions.
• Ability to deliver incremental value against clear priorities while balancing milestone needs, long-term roadmap goals, and platform health.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including building consensus, securing engineering investment, and driving clarity without formal authority.

Nice to have

• Technical fluency with geospatial data, road networks or map data models, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Experience with AI/ML, robotics, autonomous vehicle products, ODD definition, geofencing, or service area planning.
• Hands-on experience with GIS and spatial data tools such as PostGIS and GeoJSON, and SQL-based analytics such as Databricks.
• Experience with automated data mining or ML-based attribute extraction at scale, including vision-language models.
• Experience leading delivery with distributed engineering teams across time zones.
