Staff Product Manager, AI & Developer Experience

Location: Oakland, California, United States; remote team.

Salary: $243,936–$304,920 USD.

What you will do

• Own the multi-year vision, strategy, roadmap, priorities, sequencing, tradeoffs, and success metrics for developer experience across Studio IDE, Developer Agent, Cloud CLI, and the dbt VS Code Extension.
• Define best-in-class AI coding-agent experiences covering agentic workflows, multi-step execution, context management, natural-language interaction, trust, transparency, control, and evaluation.
• Partner with the Fusion team on platform-product boundaries, API contracts, roadmap coordination, and differentiated developer experiences.
• Lead engineering, design, and go-to-market teams through predictable delivery and influence senior stakeholders with strategy documents, demos, and technical tradeoff framing.
• Build feedback loops with the dbt community and enterprise customers, use research and competitive analysis, and mentor product managers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, including owning strategy and roadmaps for developer platforms at scale.
• Direct experience owning developer-environment products and a strong perspective on development tools and modern IDE limitations.
• Hands-on experience building, shipping, or leading AI-agent features, including multi-step LLM workflows, tool use, context management, or evaluation; daily use of AI coding assistants.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and influencing without authority across platform and product boundaries.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to reason about system architecture and engage deeply in technical decisions.
• Experience turning user research and developer feedback into prioritized, well-scoped product work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, from concise specifications to executive-level narratives.
• Comfort working asynchronously on a distributed, remote team.

Nice to have

• Experience building or shipping frontier AI-agent products, agentic UX, evaluation frameworks, or agent orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or similar SQL-first transformation frameworks.
• Familiarity with LSP, tree-sitter, or other IDE infrastructure primitives.
• Experience with CLI tooling and developer workflow automation.
• Open-source background or strong engagement with developer communities.
• Knowledge of Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, and the analytics engineering ecosystem.
