Accounts Receivable Specialist

What you will do

• Manage daily accounts receivable activity, including applying customer payments, recording bank deposits, posting cash, and maintaining cash receipt logs.
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies, unapplied credits, collection issues, and other differences.
• Maintain accurate AR aging, collection, credit, and uncollectible balance records.
• Contact customers about past-due accounts, identify slow-paying customers, and communicate collection risks.
• Provide weekly management updates and AR analysis covering collection progress, account status, risks, and trends.
• Support accounting, finance, inventory management, and accounts payable while identifying opportunities to streamline AR processes.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least three years of accounts receivable experience.
• Working understanding of accounting, finance, and bookkeeping fundamentals.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong mathematical, organizational, analytical, communication, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence communicating directly with customers about sensitive account matters and discretion when handling confidential company and customer information.
• Experience with an accounting ERP system such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is preferred.
• Manufacturing industry and process-improvement experience are highly desirable.
