Staff Mechanical Engineer (Powersports)

Location: Wyoming, Minnesota, USA; full-time, onsite role.

Starting pay range: $112,000–$148,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the creation and refinement of innovative vehicle, system, and customer experience concepts.
• Translate customer insights, market trends, emerging technologies, and business opportunities into engineering concepts and prototype solutions.
• Design, engineer, and build concept vehicles, functional prototypes, and proof-of-concept models.
• Drive innovation projects from ideation through concept development, experimentation, reviews, testing, and validation.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design, User Experience, Product Planning, Strategy, and Engineering teams to balance desirability, feasibility, and business viability.
• Present recommendations and strategic opportunities, assess technical risks, and build relationships with suppliers, startups, universities, and technology organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field required.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design or related engineering roles preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling tools such as Creo, Blender, or similar platforms.
• Experience developing system requirements and performance specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving abilities, creative thinking, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Project, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Comfort working with ambiguity, flexibility in projects, and emerging technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with calibration and software.
• Agriculture, transportation, powersports, or automotive design experience.
• Fabrication experience, including machining, welding, and assembly.
