Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site in the San Francisco office 5 days per week. Travel to China may be required as needed.

Base salary: $140K–$200K, plus equity.

What you will do

• Architect and design complex electromechanical systems using plastic, metal, and soft-goods components integrated with sensors and actuators.
• Drive product designs from brainstorming and CAD through prototyping, testing, and production ramp in Asia.
• Perform thermal, fluid, and structural analysis and testing against product goals.
• Solve cross-functional engineering problems with electrical, software, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
• Collaborate with industrial design, marketing, product, and company leadership to shape product direction and features.

Requirements

• 3+ years of consumer product design experience, including injection molding, sheet metal forming, and sensor/electronics integration.
• Experience shipping high-volume consumer products, including manufacturing support in Asia.
• Highly proficient in 3D modeling with tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or Creo.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing, design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA), tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Understanding of root cause analysis, design of experiments (DOEs), and other quality measurement techniques.
• BSME or equivalent qualification.
• Willingness and ability to travel to China as needed.
