Subcontract Engineer / Chartering Specialist (Offshore Energy)

Location: Paris – La Défense, France; on-site presence required a minimum of 4 days per week. Occasional short-duration business trips are required.

hirify.global is recruiting for an international partner, a major player in the Offshore Energy and Subsea industry, for a major offshore energy development project in Africa.

What you will do

• Manage the full subcontract lifecycle, including procurement planning, RFQs, tendering, contract award, administration and close-out.
• Coordinate technical, HSE, quality, legal, financial and insurance evaluations and prepare commercial award recommendations.
• Negotiate contractual terms covering pricing, payment, liabilities, guarantees, variations and risk allocation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, deliverables, milestones, costs, invoicing, amendments, disputes, claims and final account settlements.
• Support vessel chartering through RFQs, commercial evaluations, negotiations and charter party agreements, including BIMCO-based frameworks where applicable.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Marine, Legal, HSE, Quality, Finance and Cost Control teams while maintaining procurement and contract records.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Logistics or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in subcontracting, contract administration, project procurement, or construction and services contracting.
• Proven experience with tendering, negotiation, contract award, post-award administration, variations, claims and close-out across the full subcontract lifecycle.
• Experience in Offshore Energy, Oil & Gas, Subsea, Engineering or Construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of subcontracting strategies, commercial evaluations, contractual negotiations, contract drafting, claims management, change control, risk allocation, cost control and contractual compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems, procurement reporting and contract documentation, plus the ability to manage complex subcontracting packages and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Fluent professional English proficiency required.
• Strong negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, commercial judgment, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills; able to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to operate effectively in an international and multicultural project environment.

Nice to have

• Previous exposure to vessel chartering, marine services or offshore logistics.
• Familiarity with BIMCO contracts, charter party agreements and marine contracting practices.
• French or Portuguese language skills.
