Full Stack Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, London, United Kingdom; attendance at the Shoreditch office at least once a week is required

What you will do

• Develop and maintain the dominAI web application with React and TypeScript, creating reliable and performant interfaces for complex operational data.
• Build backend services in Node.js that integrate with AI inference pipelines and simulation systems.
• Own well-scoped features end to end, from refining requirements through shipping and supporting features in use.
• Plan and execute development sprints, estimate work, and collaborate with UX designers on high-impact interfaces.
• Maintain quality through automated and manual testing, QA collaboration, and code review.
• Grow across the stack through pairing, mentorship, and code review with senior engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional experience building web applications with React and TypeScript.
• Working proficiency in Node.js, including contributing to backend services rather than only consuming them.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining work to engineers and stakeholders and surfacing issues through effective questions.
• Curiosity, willingness to learn, and active use of feedback.
• Ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Vetted status at least to SC level.
• Willingness to attend the Shoreditch office at least once a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vite, API design, data modelling, backend integration patterns, event-driven architectures, message queues, or real-time data systems.
• Experience with component and styling libraries such as MUI or Tailwind, and state management libraries such as Zustand or Immer.
• Experience integrating with or building around AI services or simulation platforms.
• Evidence of advocating for best practices or improving a previous team.
• Experience with C++ or Rust.
• Interest or familiarity with the defence sector, Military Modelling and Simulation, or command and control systems.
• Interest in travelling to support customer deployments, hackathons, and industry events.
