Director, Corporate Development and M&A (Fintech)

Location: US - New York, NY; at least 3 days per week in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $193,800–$310,100 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

• Identify, evaluate, and execute mergers, acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives supporting hirify.global’s growth strategy.
• Analyze industry trends and growth opportunities across existing businesses and potential new markets, developing data-grounded points of view for stakeholders and executive management.
• Perform valuation, business-case modeling, investment analysis, and other rigorous financial analyses.
• Lead detailed diligence processes with hirify.global colleagues and external advisors, prioritizing efforts and escalating critical findings.
• Assess transaction rationales and risks across legal, regulatory, accounting, and tax dimensions, and communicate findings clearly.
• Maintain relationships with investment banks, private equity and venture capital firms, partner companies, and internal stakeholders while contributing to M&A practices and team development.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 10 years with an advanced degree such as a Master’s, MBA, JD, or MD, or at least 5 years with a PhD.
• Hands-on M&A execution experience covering target identification through closing and addressing key deal issues.
• Experience leading complex projects with multiple workstreams and cross-functional and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to engage senior leaders, boards, and external partners.
• Ability to work collaboratively while providing independent thought leadership.
• Ability to lead detailed diligence processes and understand transaction friction points.

Nice to have

• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 12 years with an advanced degree, or a PhD with 9+ years of experience.
• MBA or another relevant graduate degree from a top-tier institution.
• Financial services and/or payments industry experience.
• Experience operating successfully in fast-paced, high-expectation environments.
• Global or multinational business experience.
