AIT Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Bordeaux, France; on-site operations in company facilities

The Exploration Company builds spacecraft for humanity and develops commercial space systems.

What you will do

• Perform mechanical operations on lunar vehicles, including assembly, tube bending, welding, integration, and testing.
• Set up facilities, mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE), tools, and the work environment required for testing.
• Write procedures for validating and qualifying mechanical subsystems with the CAD and mechanical design teams.
• Execute mechanical operations and tests, follow procedures, and document anomalies or deviations.
• Support anomaly resolution during integration and testing, report issues to the AIT manager, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Define, organize, and manage required mechanical tools and ground support equipment.

Requirements

• Mechanical or aerospace degree, minimum BSc.
• At least 3 years of hands-on mechanical AIT experience for aerospace systems.
• Knowledge of ESA and NASA quality and safety standards.
• Broad knowledge of structures and mechanical subsystems for aerospace vehicles.
• Fluent English required.
• Motivation to advance the commercial space industry and work autonomously in a fast-paced, demanding startup environment.

Nice to have

• Welding experience.
• CAD design experience.
• German, French, Italian, or Arabic language skills.
