Application Specialist Finance

Location: Hybrid role based at the Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal office

What you will do

• Support and maintain finance-related applications and services.
• Ensure application stability, reliability, and alignment with business needs.
• Implement new functionalities and continuous improvements.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Finance stakeholders, Business Analysts, Developers, and IT Operations teams.
• Support high-quality application service delivery across Porto and the Netherlands.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional and intellectual level, preferably in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in an ICT organisation, application management role, or project/change environment.
• Experience with application configuration, application management, functional analysis, operational support, or business application support.
• Knowledge of requirements management, gap analysis, and impact assessment.
• Ability to translate business needs into structured requirements, application changes, and clear documentation.
• Experience with Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes.
• Experience with Agile ways of working, such as Scrum, Kanban, and/or SAFe.
• Professional working proficiency in English, minimum B2 level.

Nice to have

• Experience with finance-related applications, financial processes, or regulated financial services environments.
• Practical experience with user access management, authorisations, release implementation, monitoring, testing, and supplier management.
• Experience with SQL and Azure.
• Experience working in an international environment.
• Dutch language skills.
