Senior Electronic FX Trading Business Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid work. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

Salary: EUR 4,200–5,040 gross for B2B or EUR 2,250–2,600 net under a permanent contract.

Work for a financial services client developing and operating electronic FX trading platforms used by FX desks worldwide.

What you will do

• Lead the analysis and implementation of enhancement requests from FX traders and sales teams to optimize trading workflows.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions in collaboration with front-office teams, developers, and stakeholders.
• Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues by parsing logs, executing SQL queries, and supporting development with Python scripting when needed.
• Apply agile principles, document business requirements, coordinate testing, and support reliable system updates.
• Maintain expertise in financial markets, FX products, and electronic trading platforms while acting as a subject matter expert.
• Manage projects independently and provide strategic insights.

Requirements

• More than 8 years of experience in financial markets, with strong knowledge of FX and electronic trading.
• Proficiency in SQL and Unix, with technical aptitude for investigating system issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and front-office stakeholders.
• Fluent English.
• Existing legal right to work in the European Union.

Nice to have

• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Knowledge of Python scripting or development experience.
• Certification or additional training in financial markets or agile methodologies.
