Finance Reporting Lead

Location: Newbury, United Kingdom; hybrid working with office attendance 2–3 days per week and at least 8 days per month.

What you will do

• Develop, automate, and enhance financial and operational reporting for month-end, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.
• Drive consistent reporting standards, governance, data integrity, and alignment with Group requirements across Finance.
• Streamline reporting through digital solutions, automation, standardisation, and reduced manual effort.
• Support month-end, planning, and forecasting through system administration, data validation, and reporting activities.
• Assess the impact of accounting changes, restatements, Chart of Accounts, cost centres, and reporting hierarchies on reporting.
• Respond to bespoke reporting, audit queries, ad-hoc analysis, and investigations while building relationships across Finance, IT, Data & Analytics, and Group teams.

Requirements

• Demonstrable Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets, financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational performance, including financial and non-financial KPIs.
• Good understanding of financial reporting, planning, and performance management principles.
• Confidence using PowerPoint to create clear management and executive reporting.
• Vast experience with finance systems and reporting platforms, including developing reports, dashboards, and management information.
• Knowledge of finance data structures, reporting hierarchies, and data governance principles.
• Ideally qualified as an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant, or able to provide equivalent relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, Alteryx, or similar reporting and data technologies.
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management or other EPM, planning, or forecasting systems.
• Experience supporting finance transformation, reporting standardisation, or digital reporting initiatives in a large or complex organisation.
• Exposure to AI-enabled reporting or emerging technologies that improve reporting efficiency and insight.
