Salary: $65,000–$74,000 per year, commensurate with experience

What you will do

• Pitch story ideas and research production topics using online sources, video archives, and other information.
• Gather video, still images, and user-generated content for news coverage.
• Write editorial copy and request graphics as needed.
• Assist with preparing and executing live correspondent hits and guest segments.
• Collaborate with on-air talent, news managers, videographers, production, digital, and engineering staff.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by show leaders or news management.

Requirements

• Three to five years of experience in national or major-market television news.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent in journalism or a related field.
• Strong writing, verbal, grammar, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to create dynamic graphic and video elements.
• Self-directing, self-motivating, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively with diverse groups.
• Strong news judgment and the ability to handle stress and short deadlines.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to work assigned shifts and remain on call during overnight, morning, weekend, and holiday periods.
