Video Editor (Travel)

Location: 100% remote, based in the United States.

hirify.global creates travel-focused editorial and social media content covering destinations, food, culture, hotels, and travel tips.

What you will do

• Collaborate with the social team on trend-driven video across destination guides, food and culture, hotel reviews, and travel tips.
• Edit one to two full-length video podcast episodes per week, including syncing multicam footage to final audio edits and producing short-form social clips.
• Edit and package creator-submitted footage for the Afar Creator Collective, bringing mixed-quality material to a consistent house style.
• Edit long-form YouTube content with strong hooks, pacing, chapters, and retention-focused storytelling.
• Use reach, interactions, watch time, and retention analytics to shape edits, identify successful approaches, and iterate.
• Maintain consistent visual and production quality, design and A/B test reel covers and YouTube thumbnails, and contribute travel video content and narration for social channels.

Requirements

• Expertise in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop, with experience working across stills, design, and video.
• A track record of growing reach and engagement, supported by examples of edited videos and their views and interaction results.
• Understanding of analytics platforms and the ability to edit captivating, storytelling-led videos while considering viewership and engagement metrics.
• Experience editing long-form YouTube content and understanding what keeps viewers watching.
• Shooting experience and comfort with voiceover and on-camera narration.
• Strong interest in lifestyle, travel, and hospitality content.

Nice to have

• Experience editing video podcasts or multicam footage.
• Motion graphics or design skills.
• Familiarity with CapCut, Descript, or AI-assisted editing tools.
• Work samples or a portfolio.
