Director of Finance (AI)

What you will do

• Build the operating model, annual plan, budget, monthly forecast, and underlying business drivers.
• Own ARR, contracted versus live ARR, time to go-live, gross margin, burn, and runway metrics.
• Prepare monthly investor updates and maintain accurate COGS and vendor-cost reporting, including voice AI infrastructure.
• Run the monthly close with an outsourced accounting partner that you select and manage.
• Own payroll, taxes, filings, invoicing, collections, and finance operations.
• Establish department budgets, expense policies, and weekly accounts-payable and approval processes.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience, ideally beginning in investment banking and followed by finance experience at a high-growth startup.
• Strong rigor and consistently accurate financial work.
• Builder mentality, with the ability to operate as the initial finance hire, work deeply in close details, and explain financial results to founders.
• Healthcare or health tech experience, either at a company or covering the sector in banking.
• Hands-on experience with modern finance tools such as Brex, Carta, NetSuite, or QuickBooks.
• Experience supporting a fundraise, first audit, or finance system rollout.
• Experience managing an outsourced accounting firm and holding it to a high standard.
