Senior Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Portland, Maine, United States, or remote; hybrid arrangements are available, with a preference for U.S.-based candidates who can occasionally visit the Portland headquarters.

What you will do

• Architect, build, test, and ship features across backend services, frontend features, data pipelines, integrations, and infrastructure.
• Build and maintain integrations with external services using secure, maintainable code.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, participate in on-call support, and improve monitoring and reliability.
• Improve tests, interfaces, observability, infrastructure, and operational simplicity.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, planning, and technical tradeoff discussions.
• Use AI-assisted tools for research, implementation, testing, and review while verifying and overriding their output when needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional, hands-on software engineering experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining production software and systems.
• Strong experience in at least one of Go or Node.js, with willingness to work across both.
• Meaningful experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Comfort with infrastructure and operations in addition to application code.
• Strong written communication and clear thinking about technical tradeoffs.
• A thoughtful approach to security; security-adjacent experience is valuable.
• Comfort using modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows.
• Ability to learn new languages and systems quickly and contribute across multiple layers.
