Network Specialist – Launch Team (IoT Hardware)

Location: Remote in the United States; travel of up to 40% required for site surveys, customer engagements, deployments, team onsites, and company events. A US Person is required for work at US government facilities.

Annual base salary: $100,000–$145,000. Regular full-time employees may also receive stock options and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Own network readiness for dock deployments by reviewing network designs, firewall and allowlist requirements, and connectivity plans with customer IT and network administrators.
• Act as the technical point of contact for customer IT and security teams, answering security questionnaires and managing firewall and infosec change requests.
• Design and validate wired Ethernet, PoE, VLAN, static addressing, NAT, VPN, WiFi, LTE, and 5G connectivity, including bandwidth for live video.
• Support Deployment Engineering during site work and remotely, and troubleshoot connectivity outages on launched docks.
• Build network requirements, validation tests, site survey checklists, and troubleshooting runbooks.
• Provide prioritized feedback to Product and Engineering on dock networking, diagnostics, and configuration.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or a customer-facing networking role.
• Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, NAT, VPNs, firewall policy, packet captures, and standard network troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with enterprise firewalls and network equipment such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, or Meraki.
• Working knowledge of WiFi and cellular networking, including LTE or 5G routers, signal assessment, and carrier data plans.
• Ability to communicate directly with customers of varying technical expertise and explain network requirements clearly.
• Strong organization and documentation habits, including keeping the system of record current.
• FAA Part 107 Certificate, or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
• US Person status required for working at US government facilities.

Nice to have

• Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or PCNSA.
• Experience with public sector networks, including CJIS or similar security requirements.
• Familiarity with Linux, basic scripting, and REST APIs.
• Experience with IoT devices, video streaming systems, or other physical equipment deployed on customer networks.
• Experience in UAS, public safety, or utilities.
