Data Engineer (iGaming)

Location: Hybrid work at the Belgium Hub in Liège, with the possibility to work remotely up to 50% of the time.

What you will do

• Design and develop SQL and PySpark data pipelines and models from ingestion through analytics-ready tables.
• Create dimensional data models, including Kimball-style star schemas, for analysts and Power BI reports.
• Implement business-rule tests, investigate failed loads, and improve data-product reliability.
• Tune jobs, evolve schemas and pipelines, reduce compute costs, and improve the existing codebase.
• Document data products and engineering work in the project Git repository for maintenance and reuse.

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
• Experience with PySpark or Python in a data-engineering context.
• Solid data-modelling knowledge, including Kimball-style star schemas.
• Around 3–6 years of hands-on data-engineering experience, including autonomy to own work from source to reporting-ready data.
• Collaborative mindset, clear communication skills, and comfort working in the gaming industry.
• Professional English required.

Nice to have

• Power BI experience, including semantic modelling, reporting, or governance.
• Experience with a data mesh or another decentralised data organisation.
• Airflow or a similar orchestration tool.
• Automated data-quality testing with tools such as Great Expectations, Soda, or dbt tests.
