Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Ghent, Belgium; hybrid, with work from home or a global office available.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, scale, and maintain data pipelines ingesting data from APIs, webhooks, and cloud storage.
• Implement domain modeling and transformation logic to unify disparate data sources into high-fidelity data products.
• Modernize legacy processes and contribute to scalable, stable data architectures.
• Support and troubleshoot live integrations, diagnose hotel and internal issues, and communicate with stakeholders during incidents.
• Improve pipeline reliability and quality through observability, automated testing, and automation.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, support, business teams, customers, and partners; investigate root causes through deep technical analysis and use AI-assisted tools to increase engineering velocity.

Requirements

• Experience building and maintaining production data pipelines, with an interest in shaping their surrounding architecture.
• Professional proficiency in Python for large-scale data processing and pipeline development.
• Strong knowledge of data cloud technologies and hands-on experience with a major cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Ability to take software from initial design through production monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Experience or interest in using AI-assisted tools to ship high-quality code faster.
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills for discussing technical details and explaining complex data flows to technical stakeholders.
