Data Architect (Data Engineering)

Location: Hybrid in Antwerp, Flanders, Belgium, with work from the office, home, and client sites. A work permit cannot be provided.

What you will do

• Lead client engagements and co-design data engineering solutions from strategy through execution.
• Build robust, scalable data pipelines and architectures for ingesting, processing, and delivering large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Design cloud and distributed data solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and frameworks such as Spark and Kafka.
• Develop data models and optimize relational, NoSQL, time-series, and graph database solutions.
• Implement batch, streaming, and real-time integration patterns, alongside CI/CD and DataOps practices for reliable and automated workflows.
• Develop hirify.global’s Data Engineering offerings, contribute to thought leadership and business development, manage stakeholders, and mentor junior to medior consultants.

Requirements

• Completed WO Master’s degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, (Energy) Engineering, or a related technical field involving substantial programming.
• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent academic research.
• Proven interest in Data Engineering and a strong interest in data and AI-related topics.
• Strong analytical mindset with systematic problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, adaptability, and entrepreneurial drive.
• Ability to mentor colleagues and facilitate professional development.
• Fluency in Dutch with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Common client technologies include Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure; the specific stack depends on the client.

Nice to have

• Fluency in German or French.
