Senior Data Engineer

What you will do

• Build high-quality, scalable end-to-end data solutions and pipelines for client analytics and AI initiatives.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and production-ready data systems.
• Design, implement, and orchestrate pipelines for ingesting, processing, and serving large datasets.
• Collaborate with BI consultants, AI engineers, data architects, and client stakeholders.
• Contribute to sales proposals and business development initiatives.
• Share knowledge, support junior colleagues, and act as a subject matter expert for client advisory.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or software engineer in a data context.
• Programming experience with one or more languages, such as Python.
• Knowledge of relational databases, data warehouses, lakehouses, storage concepts, and distributed computing.
• Experience designing, building, and owning data pipelines using technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, dbt, or Airflow.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with incremental and streaming workloads, CDC, and SCD.
• Familiarity with platform engineering, CI/CD, infrastructure as code automation, data mesh-like contexts, DataOps, and BI/AI workloads.
• Experience implementing data governance and security, including IAM, data quality management, and metadata management.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, work autonomously, manage stakeholders and time effectively, and make pragmatic technical decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and client relationship-building skills.
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proficient in English and either Dutch or French.
