Senior Data Engineer Consultant

Location: Hybrid in Antwerp, Belgium; work takes place across the office, home, and client sites.

What you will do

• Lead client engagements and co-design data engineering solutions from strategy through execution.
• Build scalable data pipelines and architectures for ingesting, processing, and delivering structured and unstructured data.
• Design cloud and distributed data solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and frameworks such as Spark and Kafka.
• Develop data models and optimize relational, NoSQL, time-series, and graph database solutions.
• Implement batch, streaming, and real-time integration patterns, together with CI/CD and DataOps practices.
• Develop hirify.global’s Data Engineering offerings, contribute to thought leadership and business development, manage stakeholders, and mentor junior to medior consultants.

Requirements

• Completed WO Master's degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, (Energy) Engineering, or a related technical field involving substantial programming.
• 3–6 years of relevant professional experience or equivalent academic research.
• Proven interest in Data Engineering and relevant sectors such as Energy and Finance.
• Strong analytical mindset with systematic problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ideas to varied audiences.
• Adaptability, fast learning ability, structured and proactive working style, and entrepreneurial drive.
• Effective stakeholder management and project delivery skills.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues and facilitate professional development.
• Fluency in English, with excellent communication and presentation abilities; Dutch or French fluency is required.
