Global Products Retail Practice Manager (AI)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; permanent full-time position with occasional travel and collaboration across global time zones.

Bain & Company is a global consulting firm whose Retail Practice develops industry expertise, proprietary products, and solutions for retailers across grocery, apparel, luxury, specialty retail, restaurants, and travel and leisure.

What you will do

• Define product vision, strategy, roadmaps, development priorities, investment plans, and budgets with Retail Product Leaders and industry experts.
• Lead the development and deployment of proprietary tools, analytical frameworks, playbooks, databases, and other intellectual property.
• Integrate artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and innovative technologies with data scientists, software developers, external partners, and global cross-functional teams.
• Drive go-to-market strategies, commercial materials, product demonstrations, client pitches, and adoption across consulting teams.
• Gather client and commercial feedback, translate insights into product improvements, and support market positioning and thought leadership.
• Oversee product operations, knowledge management, training, resource planning, analyst coordination, coaching, and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• At least six years of professional experience, including two to three years of recent consulting experience at Manager level with a leading consulting firm, or equivalent Bain Practice Consultant experience.
• Strong problem-solving, research, analytical, project coordination, organizational, prioritization, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• Advanced Excel and analytical modeling skills, with the ability to use data for business decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including development of high-quality PowerPoint presentations.
• Ability to engage senior stakeholders, consulting teams, cross-functional partners, and globally distributed teams.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial, results-oriented approach and ability to lead, motivate, and develop colleagues in an inclusive team environment.
• Genuine interest in Retail, changing consumer behavior, technology, and industry innovation.
• Flexibility to collaborate across global time zones and travel occasionally as needed.

Nice to have

• MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
• Retail industry experience or experience supporting Retail clients through consulting engagements.
• Experience managing complex projects or product development initiatives.
• Familiarity with Alteryx or Tableau.
