Electronics Engineer (GNSS/LTE)

Location: Trondheim or Molde, Norway; customer visits are part of the role.

hirify.global develops a virtual fencing solution for livestock using compact, solar-assisted devices that combine GNSS, LTE, Bluetooth, and other technologies.

What you will do

• Design schematics and PCB layouts and review designs with the engineering team.
• Bring up new boards, subcircuits, and reusable hardware modules.
• Test and validate hardware from the first prototype through pilot production.
• Build laboratory setups, debug PCBA issues, and identify root causes of failures.
• Collaborate with the embedded team to optimize power consumption in a solar-powered device.
• Visit customers and their animals to understand how the product operates in the field.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
• Experience taking boards from schematic to working hardware, including the ability to explain what went wrong during development.
• Strong fundamentals in analogue, power, and digital design, signal integrity, EMC basics, and power optimization.
• Confidence using an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, DMM, and PCBA debugging and testing equipment.
• Experience with a professional PCB CAD tool; the team is moving from Altium to KiCad.
• Fluent English required.

Nice to have

• RF and antenna design experience.
• Experience integrating GNSS, LTE, or Bluetooth in a single device.
• Experience with complex electromechanical products in harsh environments.
• Experience with CE, FCC, and ISED certification.
• Python for test scripting.
