Systems Engineer - Space Systems Hardware

Location: Hybrid role in Tres Cantos, Madrid, Spain, with up to 8 weeks per year of teleworking outside the usual geographical area.

What you will do

• Define and integrate hardware solutions for satellite navigation ground systems supporting Galileo and LEO PNT missions.
• Analyse system needs and translate them into technical and infrastructure requirements.
• Evaluate servers, storage, GPUs, networking equipment, and other IT hardware, comparing vendor solutions for technology selection.
• Collaborate with aerospace, software, hardware, and network engineers on system design and architecture reviews.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, analyses, and design artefacts in English and Spanish.
• Support requirements verification and align design decisions with project objectives.

Requirements

• Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong interest in hardware engineering, systems architecture, equipment integration, and complex technological infrastructures.
• Good level of English, strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear technical communication.
• Knowledge or previous experience with servers, storage systems, GPUs, networking technologies, electronics, microcontrollers, or computer assembly.
• Knowledge of systems architecture, virtualization environments, hardware platforms, and network infrastructures.
• Ability to analyse technical documentation and manufacturers' specifications and prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge or previous experience in space systems, satellite navigation, or ground-segment infrastructures is valued.
