Field Application Engineer II (Hydrogen)

Location: Spain (Madrid) or remote from Spain; ability to travel as needed, up to 50%

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical resource for the European sales team and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.
• Explain electrolyser systems, fuel cell systems, infrastructure technology, and product positioning to business and technical users.
• Gather and communicate customer requirements, evaluate them against approved solutions, and develop alternatives when requirements cannot be met directly.
• Respond to the technical elements of RFIs and RFPs and support the development of solutions for customer field applications.
• Calibrate product rollout expectations between customer stakeholders and project teams, while leading cross-functional technical activities.
• Deliver technical and product training and gather field data to support new solutions and product offerings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or another relevant engineering field.
• At least 3 years of related work experience, preferably integrating technical solutions in the field for customer stakeholders.
• Experience in industrial markets such as automotive, aeronautical, or oil and gas.
• Proven ability to develop technical solutions in varied environments while accounting for multiple constraints.
• Essential capabilities in computer and software systems, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical ability, attention to detail, quality focus, and follow-through.
• Ability to manage complex projects and multitask effectively; driven, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to travel as needed, up to 50%.

Nice to have

• Experience with hydrogen, fuel cells, or electrolysers.
• Experience in industrial gas, cryogenic industry, high-pressure systems of 250 bar or higher, gas processing or dispensing equipment, oil and gas, CNG, or LNG.
• Knowledge of additional languages.
