Senior Technical Project Manager (Public Sector)

Location: Karlsruhe, Germany; hybrid working model with flexible working hours.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of a digital infrastructure programme, managing scope, timeline, budget, quality, and compliance from kickoff through completion.
• Identify and escalate contractual, compliance, and reputational risks early.
• Act as the primary contact for public-sector stakeholders, institutional partners, and subcontractors, including executive and ministerial stakeholders.
• Translate technical delivery realities into formal communication and convert public-sector requirements into actionable direction for internal teams.
• Manage formal reporting, documentation standards, and contract-required audit trails.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, Legal, Sales, Finance, and Customer Care with the Senior PM and CTO PMO.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in a technical environment, ideally including public-sector or highly regulated delivery.
• Experience with formal procurement structures, compliance obligations, and institutional decision-making processes is a strong plus.
• Ability to build external stakeholder relationships, communicate confidently at every level, represent hirify.global in formal high-visibility settings, and explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• Strong knowledge of traditional and agile frameworks such as PRINCE2, PMP, and Scrum; certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
• Strong conflict-resolution skills, adaptability, and the ability to remain calm and structured under time pressure.
• Highly proficient German at business-negotiation level is essential; most communication, reporting, and documentation will be conducted in German.

Nice to have

• Public-sector or highly regulated delivery experience.
• Certification in PRINCE2, PMP, Scrum, or a related framework.
• Familiarity with Claude or n8n for workflow automation.
