Architect (Payments)

What you will do

• Define target architecture, roadmaps, transition states and priorities across transaction-services domains including payments, cash management, liquidity, trade finance, client channels and connectivity.
• Lead end-to-end solution design for APIs, portals, host-to-host connectivity, processing engines, clearing and settlement connections, and back-office systems.
• Promote API-first, event-driven and domain-oriented architecture; support ISO 20022 modernization, interoperability and data quality.
• Design for 24/7 availability, low latency, throughput, recoverability, observability, security and operational resilience.
• Partner with Security and Risk on DORA, PSD2/PSD3, sanctions screening, AML/KYC and data-privacy requirements.
• Act as an architecture contact for squads and tribes, coach engineers, participate in governance and align standards with Enterprise Architecture across countries.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional IT experience, including at least 5 years in an architecture role such as Solution Architect, Domain Architect or Enterprise Architect.
• Strong experience in payments, cash management, liquidity or trade finance, preferably in wholesale or transaction banking.
• Experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical technology platforms and leading or significantly contributing to legacy-modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of payment flows, clearing and settlement, ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX, SEPA including SCT, SCT Inst and SDD, and real-time payment schemes.
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, OpenAPI, enterprise integration patterns and event-streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies, containers, Kubernetes, private and public cloud environments, DevOps and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of data and security architecture, including IAM, encryption, zero-trust principles and observability.
• Ability to communicate architecture choices clearly and work across product, engineering, security, risk and architecture disciplines.
