Software Engineer III (Java)

Salary: $143,104–$216,000 per year, plus annual or quarterly performance incentives.

What you will do

• Develop, configure, maintain, and re-engineer software components and applications that meet functional, security, availability, scalability, and maintainability requirements.
• Design REST API web services and integrate Java microservices with Apache Kafka and business systems.
• Create CI/CD, testing, migration, telemetry, and automation scripts and processes.
• Design test objectives and cases, execute multiple testing types, analyze defects, perform regression testing, and maintain code quality.
• Monitor application metrics, logs, performance, and availability; troubleshoot bottlenecks and conduct complex maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with product, UX, and cross-functional teams to translate feature requirements into actionable engineering tasks and deliver sprint commitments.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related area; or a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one of these areas and 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
• Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java.
• Experience developing and maintaining Spring Boot applications in a microservice architecture using IntelliJ.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab, Spring Batch data migration, and Git.
• Experience with SQL databases including Azure SQL and Oracle, and NoSQL databases including Azure Cosmos DB and Elasticsearch.
• Experience writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito; using Maven and Gradle; and applying Singleton, Factory, and DAO design patterns.
• Experience creating and deploying Docker applications with Kubernetes on cloud platforms.
• Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, and the Elastic Stack for monitoring, crash analytics, and logging.
• Experience collaborating with product and UX teams using Figma, participating in Agile ceremonies, coordinating project leads, and using Jira and Confluence.
