Senior Data Platform Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build and operate a scalable enterprise data platform supporting analytics, integration, reporting, and AI.
• Integrate business-system and external data through APIs, change data capture, event streaming, and mirroring for near-real-time reporting.
• Develop trusted knowledge layers, including business definitions, context, knowledge graphs, and ontologies.
• Build tested, reusable ETL/ELT pipelines and datasets, defining and certifying important data and KPIs with business owners.
• Implement governance covering access control, sensitive-data classification, lineage, data quality, observability, and self-service reporting.
• Monitor platform performance and cost, use AI-assisted development tools, and collaborate with business and Technology teams from concept through production.

Requirements

• Significant experience building and running a modern data platform on Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, or a similar platform, using medallion architecture and managing ingestion performance and platform-cost forecasting.
• Strong Python/PySpark and SQL, with production ETL/ELT experience integrating varied business systems, including poorly documented sources.
• Experience delivering self-service data and reporting through Power BI or custom solutions, with practical access control, classification, lineage, and data-quality governance.
• Hands-on experience with an enterprise data catalogue used for cross-system governance, ownership models, and access management.
• Experience working with unstructured data and building knowledge graphs or ontologies.
• Experience building secure, scalable solutions on Azure or an equivalent cloud platform.
• Regular use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, with the ability to review and validate generated output.
• Knowledge of architecting AI solutions with appropriate security, privacy, testing, and cost controls.
• Proven end-to-end delivery from concept to production in a small, high-impact team, using CI/CD, DevOps, and agile iterative practices.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering enterprise AI solutions, including agents and workflows built on Microsoft Foundry or similar.
• Experience in IP, legal tech, or compliance-adjacent industries.
• Awareness of the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, GDPR, and their impact on solution design and governance.
