Analytics Engineer II (dbt)

Location: Hybrid; 3 days per week in the West London office (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) and 2 days working remotely. Candidates must be within a comfortable commuting distance of London and have the right to work in the UK.

What you will do

• Build and maintain foundational data models, SQL transformations, tests and documentation in dbt.
• Develop Python code to automate data workflows and integrate systems.
• Work with product engineering teams to ensure source data supports downstream requirements.
• Make clean, intuitive datasets available through Looker and AI data analyst tools.
• Advise on data modelling best practices and reliable, maintainable transformations.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders to improve data quality, optimise performance and automate manual processes.

Requirements

• Experience using dbt to build production-grade data models and test suites.
• Practical experience writing maintainable Python for data processing, automation or integrations.
• An engineering mindset focused on testing, documentation and maintainability.
• Excellent SQL skills, including query performance optimisation.
• Practical understanding of version control and Git.
• Curiosity, attention to detail and the ability to explain complex processes, requirements and data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and develop useful solutions.
• Right to work in the UK and availability to work three days per week from the West London office.

Nice to have

• Experience building and maintaining ETL or ELT pipelines.
• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with BI tools, particularly Looker, LookML or the Looker API.
• Experience with generative AI or agentic tools, or interest in learning how to use them safely for data-related value.

Hiring process

• Remote initial call with a Talent Acquisition Partner.
• The process may include a take-home task or presentation, followed by remote skills and in-person behaviours interviews.
• A final Leadership interview may be included depending on seniority; the process usually takes 3–5 weeks.
