Senior Cloud Engineer (Google Cloud)

What you will do

• Build and manage GCP infrastructure with Terraform, including projects, VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, Compute Engine, storage, and IAM.
• Deploy and configure Windows Server virtual machines, IIS-hosted applications, OS hardening, and supporting infrastructure using Ansible.
• Configure GCP networking, hybrid connectivity, Cloud NAT, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor, DNS, firewalls, and external integrations.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including deployments with Octopus Deploy, and support application and infrastructure migrations from on-premises environments to GCP.
• Implement cloud security, monitoring, and logging with IAM, Cloud KMS, encryption, VPC Service Controls, GCP-native tools, and Datadog.
• Work with architects and application teams to troubleshoot migration issues, validate infrastructure, support cutovers, and document operational handovers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or related cloud infrastructure work, including hands-on GCP experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially Compute Engine, VPC networking, IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud NAT, and Cloud Load Balancing.
• Strong Terraform experience, including writing reusable modules and managing infrastructure deployments.
• Experience managing Windows Server environments, particularly Windows Server 2019/2022 and IIS.
• Experience with Ansible or similar configuration management tools.
• Good understanding of DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and migrating applications or infrastructure from on-premises environments to the cloud.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, and application connectivity.
• Ability to work directly with architects, application engineers, and client technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Octopus Deploy or migrating IIS applications to GCP.
• Familiarity with SQL Server infrastructure on Compute Engine; Redis, RabbitMQ, or MSMQ; and Google Cloud Memorystore.
• Familiarity with Cloud Armor, VPC Service Controls, Cloud KMS, and Datadog monitoring.
• Exposure to PCI DSS or other compliance standards.
