DevOps Engineer (GCP)

Location: Remote, Latin America; availability for standard US-timezone business hours required.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and improve GCP cloud infrastructure with Terraform across multiple environments and projects.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and OIDC-based keyless cloud authentication.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and pipeline issues, identify root causes, and implement or document solutions.
• Support DevOps incidents, operational requests, and production releases while gradually taking greater ownership.
• Create technical documentation, runbooks, handoff notes, and design documents; review infrastructure changes and identify risks.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and full-stack platform engineers to improve reliable, secure, and repeatable deployment workflows using logs, tests, metrics, and other technical evidence.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider; Google Cloud Platform is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized deployment workflows.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including VPCs, DNS, and firewalls, plus IAM, secrets management, and secure cloud authentication.
• Scripting experience with Python or Bash.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to investigate independently, communicate blockers, and document findings.
• Good written English and sufficient spoken English to collaborate with a U.S.-based team; availability during standard U.S.-timezone business hours.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with GCP and Google Kubernetes Engine, including GitHub Actions workflows and OIDC-based keyless authentication.
• Experience supporting production releases, DevOps incidents, operational issues, infrastructure reviews, technical decisions, runbooks, and handoffs.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations, assess risks, and propose evidence-based improvements.
• Familiarity with Cloud SQL, Cloud DNS, Cloud Monitoring and Logging, Secret Manager, Redis, and cloud-based data infrastructure.
• Experience supporting data and analytics platforms such as Snowflake and dbt.
• Experience supporting generative AI products or AI-powered software platforms.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for planning, code reviews, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Motivation and demonstrated ability to grow toward senior-level ownership, infrastructure architecture, and technical decision-making.
