Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure/GCP)

Location: Leicester, Leicestershire, United Kingdom; hybrid work arrangement.

Salary: £63,000–£70,200 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions and centralised Terraform modules.
• Automate provisioning and management of PaaS resources, including serverless functions, databases, and containers.
• Apply Azure Policy and internal engineering standards to maintain configuration integrity and security.
• Implement monitoring and proactive alerting, participate in incident response and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with wider technology teams to integrate IT infrastructure.
• Coach junior engineers, lead technical workshops, define engineering standards, and translate complex business requirements into high-level architectural designs.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Azure Foundations, including governance and scaffolding, plus working knowledge of GCP.
• Strong understanding of networking architecture, including ExpressRoute, Virtual Networks, and firewalls, and identity management using Entra ID and RBAC.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, and PowerShell.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL, AKS, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Ability to scope and plan complex projects and translate requirements into pragmatic solutions.
• Ability to mentor junior team members through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Ability to lead technical workshops, develop engineering standards, and promote cloud best practices.
• Ability to design high-level architectures aligned with long-term scalability and IT strategy.
• Ability to act as an escalation point and coordinate the resolution of major technical incidents.
