Senior GCP DevOps Engineer (Onsite)

Location: San Salvador, El Salvador; hybrid model with 3 to 4 days per week on-site and 1 to 2 days remote, Monday through Friday.

What you will do

• Define Golden Paths that enable self-service deployments for development teams.
• Ensure infrastructure remains immutable, with production changes managed through Terraform.
• Build and evolve GitLab CI/CD workflows toward zero manual deployments.
• Integrate security controls into delivery workflows, including Binary Authorization and network policies.
• Design secure multi-cloud and hybrid connectivity across AWS, GCP, and legacy systems.
• Develop Kubernetes operators and controllers, apply FinOps practices, and transfer knowledge through pair programming.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, platform engineering, and cloud environments.
• Advanced experience designing complex, reusable Terraform modules and implementing an immutable, everything-as-code infrastructure strategy.
• Advanced experience building multi-environment GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including deployment orchestration and pipeline security.
• Advanced knowledge of GCP cloud-native architecture as the primary platform, plus hands-on experience with AWS and hybrid connectivity across multi-cloud environments and legacy systems.
• Advanced experience with Binary Authorization, network policies, Kubernetes operators, and controllers.
• Working knowledge of FinOps practices, including quotas and cost alerts for cloud billing control.
• Proven technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge-transfer skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Working knowledge of English is required; Spanish is the primary language of communication within the project.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
