Manager - Charter Operations (Airline Operations)

Location: Chicago or Arlington Heights, Illinois, United States; on-site charter operations and station analysis are required.

Base pay: $102,220.00–$133,194.00 per year, with eligibility for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Review charter operations for compliance with operational, regulatory, safety, Part 119, and FAA Operations Specifications requirements.
• Develop and maintain charter and military station navigation procedures, briefing packets, 10-7 charts, and other pilot-facing operational content.
• Lead cross-functional groups in authoring and publishing charter policies, procedures, Ops Alerts, CCS Messages, and Pilot Bulletins.
• Coordinate navigation data across electronic charts, backup charts, and FMC navigation software before charter operations.
• Coordinate with station personnel, airport authorities, Flight Operations Engineering, ATC, Inflight, NOC, Flight Standards, and Corporate Security.
• Conduct on-site charter operations and station-startup analysis, manage noise-abatement and curfew requirements, and provide leadership and mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of airline experience.
• Strong communication skills, knowledge of airline operations, and the ability to work cross-divisionally.
• Strong organization and ability to manage competing priorities, demands, and timelines.
• Ability to provide leadership, guidance, influence, and mentoring; discretion in tactical decisions and ability to provide input on strategic decisions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of an interview and reliable, punctual attendance are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or 6 years of relevant work experience.
• FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certification, ATP or commercial pilot experience, and ATC or aircraft operational experience.
• 5+ years of 121 or 135 experience, 4+ years of airline charter operations experience, and 2+ years of SMS experience.
• Air operations experience, knowledge of FARs, and worldwide aeronautical knowledge.
• Previous management and project management experience.
• Experience drafting, coordinating, vetting, and distributing policy and procedural information.
• Military airport charter evaluation experience, including knowledge of arrestor systems.
• Understanding of generative AI capabilities and limitations, with responsible use for research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving.
