Control Systems Engineer (Ignition SCADA)

Location: Australia

Salary: AUD 140,000–180,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on experience.

hirify.global is recruiting for an engineering team delivering industrial control system projects across mining, heavy industry, and utilities.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain industrial control systems across the full project lifecycle.
• Complete conceptual design and front-end engineering design.
• Develop functional specifications, test plans, and technical documentation.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Develop control logic and support testing, commissioning, and validation.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams and contribute technical input to project standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, including at least 2 years of hands-on Ignition SCADA experience.
• Experience with PLC programming and fault-finding, ideally across Schneider Electric, Allen-Bradley, or Siemens platforms.
• Experience with industrial HMI/SCADA systems such as Ignition, Plant SCADA, or FactoryTalk View.
• Strong understanding of industrial control systems and processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA, or MQTT.
• SCADA architecture, scripting, and enterprise deployments.
• Database integration and Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages.
• Docker, Kubernetes, or Grafana.
• Client-site work, commissioning, and troubleshooting experience.
