What you will do

• Lead, support, coach, mentor, and develop the Melbourne Fire Engineering team while building a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Support recruitment, workforce planning, performance expectations, quality, utilisation, project delivery, and the development of future technical and business leaders.
• Provide senior technical leadership on complex and high-profile fire engineering projects, including review and guidance of fire safety solutions and technical deliverables.
• Maintain technical credibility through knowledge of the Australian Building Code, relevant Standards, fire engineering practices, major proposals, client presentations, and strategic projects.
• Develop client and industry relationships, identify opportunities, support proposals and fee negotiations, and help win new work.
• Build hirify.global' presence across Victoria through market strategy, networking, industry representation, business planning, and collaboration with business development and marketing teams.

Requirements

• Significant Fire Engineering experience with strong technical knowledge and project experience.
• Experience leading complex fire engineering projects from inception through completion.
• Previous experience managing, mentoring, or leading engineers.
• Strong understanding of the Australian Building Code and relevant fire safety Standards.
• Strong client management, relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience in business development, networking, and winning work, plus a strong professional network across the Victorian construction, property, engineering, or fire industries.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of what drives a successful consulting business.
• Ability to balance technical quality, people, clients, and commercial outcomes.
• Interest in developing people, building high-performing teams, challenging conventional thinking, and representing hirify.global externally.
