Senior Director, Site Engineering (Data Centres)

Location: hirify.global HQ, North Sydney; based onsite in Sydney, with regional travel as needed for site inspections and engineering reviews.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a global team of site-based engineers through detailed design, construction, commissioning readiness, and site implementation.
• Drive consistent construction execution, schedule adherence, safety, quality assurance and quality control across hirify.global markets.
• Coordinate CSA, MEP, Owner Supplied Equipment, specialist engineers, contractors, design teams, construction teams and commissioning teams.
• Establish pre-commissioning, energisation, start-up, systems completion, handover and documentation readiness frameworks.
• Lead engineering workshops, BIM coordination meetings, constructability reviews and resolution of technical and construction interface issues.
• Report project status and risks to executives and incorporate delivery lessons into future design and construction standards.

Requirements

• 20+ years of engineering experience in large-scale infrastructure, hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities or similar environments.
• Strong site-based engineering experience within design-and-construct projects and proven experience managing design during construction on large, complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex engineering and construction interface issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
• Experience coordinating CSA, MEP and specialist systems.
• Demonstrated experience in pre-commissioning, systems completion, energisation readiness, equipment start-up and turnover of mission-critical systems.
• Strong understanding of commissioning prerequisites, system boundaries, test documentation, controls integration, vendor requirements and readiness gates.
• Familiarity with BIM-based coordination and design management tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore or similar.
• Strong ability to lead technical discussions with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders, with comfort working in fast-paced project environments where engineering decisions directly affect delivery outcomes.
