Senior Supervisor, Engineering Services (SATCOM)

Location: Pinkenba and Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; based at the hirify.global Regional Support Centre in Pinkenba.

What you will do

• Direct daily work, prioritisation, and resource allocation for maintenance personnel delivering services under maintenance plans and customer contracts.
• Provide technical leadership and sustainment advice to Defence, industry, internal stakeholders, and customers, including occasional customer site visits.
• Support engineering investigations, configuration management, product improvements, corrective actions, and technical governance.
• Lead sustainment planning covering stock assessments, critical spares, sparing analysis, repair pipelines, obsolescence, RMAs, and purchase orders.
• Maintain personnel qualifications, competencies, training records, technical authority allocations, documentation, procedures, and technical instructions.
• Identify and mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety, quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Approximately 7 years or more of experience in Defence, aerospace, telecommunications, or related technical industries, including leadership of Electronics, RF Communications, or complex technical maintenance teams.
• Certificate III in Electronics, Telecommunications, Communications Systems, Radio Communications, or an equivalent technical trade qualification.
• Experience with technical regulatory frameworks, technical authority structures, maintenance management systems, and controlled maintenance environments.
• Ability to plan, prioritise, and coordinate resources to meet customer, operational, and contractual objectives.
• Experience managing and executing maintenance and sustainment activities in Defence or highly regulated technical environments, including coordination with Integrated Logistics Support, inventory management, logistics, and procurement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance, with Baseline clearance required before commencing employment.
• Australian citizenship may be required for roles involving Australian Defence Security Clearance or ITAR information.

Nice to have

• Experience in RF and satellite communications maintenance.
• Experience with trunked radio systems or related communications technologies.
• Working knowledge of IP networking, network protocols, and communications systems.
• Prior Australian Defence Force experience in technical maintenance.
• Experience with Defence ERP, SAP, Oracle, MILIS, or equivalent ERP and management systems.
• Understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
