Strategic Lead, Materials Planning Transformation

Location: Hybrid, San Francisco, California; US-based compensation applies, and candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wisconsin are not considered.

Salary: $164,900–$194,000 for Region 3, $182,750–$215,000 for Region 2, or $200,000–$236,000 for Region 1, plus equity.

What you will do

• Define the vision and multi-year roadmap for transforming Materials Planning from data handling toward analysis, judgment, and decision-making.
• Apply an AI-first approach to redesign planning processes, roles, workflows, and decision support.
• Evaluate planning, data integration, supply chain visibility, and AI-enabled tools; lead requirements, vendor evaluations, pilots, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Partner with IT, Data/Analytics, and Engineering to integrate solutions with ERP and supply chain planning systems.
• Standardize and automate planning workflows across contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams, including data intake, validation, alerting, follow-up, and reporting.
• Define transformation metrics and guide CTB, supply availability, constrained-material allocation, E&O, liability management, NPI, sustaining programs, launches, and EOL readiness.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Materials Planning, or a related field, including cross-functional or cross-organizational initiatives at scale.
• Consumer electronics and/or hardware experience with deep hands-on expertise in materials planning, CTB, and allocation.
• Extensive experience working with Contract Manufacturers, including establishing data, reporting, or process standards across external partners.
• Experience designing and implementing process improvements or automation that measurably changed how a team works.
• Hands-on experience applying AI, automation, or analytics tools to operational workflows, with sound judgment about automation, human oversight, and output validation.
• Experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing software or systems solutions, including build-versus-buy analysis and vendor management.
• Strong data fluency, advanced Excel skills, comfort with large, messy, multi-source datasets, and the ability to define metrics and build baselines.
• In-depth knowledge of MRP and ERP systems and planning data flows.
• Ability to operate with ambiguity, set direction without a predefined playbook, build consensus, and drive adoption without direct authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to senior and executive audiences.
