Fullstack Engineer (Java/AI)

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia; onsite

What you will do

• Design and develop Java microservices for product, order, pricing, cart, search, and related e-commerce functions.
• Build and integrate AI features including intelligent product search and recommendations, conversational shopping assistants, content generation, and customer-service automation.
• Design RAG pipelines and LLM application workflows covering prompting, retrieval, tool calling, and agents, and expose them as reliable, scalable services.
• Integrate LLM and ML capabilities with Spring Cloud services through API design, performance tuning, caching, and cost control.
• Maintain and optimize existing systems, write unit and integration tests, document solutions, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with developers, data scientists, designers, and product managers.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and techniques for practical production adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of Java development experience.
• Proficiency with Spring, Spring Boot, MyBatis, and microservices technologies including Spring Cloud, Nacos, Redis, Jenkins, and GitLab.
• Experience designing and developing databases using MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
• Hands-on experience with RAG or modern LLM application patterns, including prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, and tool or function calling.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs into production applications using Java frameworks such as Spring AI or LangChain4j, or Python frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
• Working proficiency in Python for AI prototyping and data processing.
• Understanding of evaluating and monitoring LLM application quality, latency, and cost.
• Solid understanding of B2B and B2C e-commerce models and hands-on experience building internet-based e-commerce websites.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems effectively, research and learn, and collaborate in a team.
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Graduation from a top-tier university or a Master’s degree.
• Experience in internet or e-commerce companies.
• Experience with Elasticsearch or vector databases such as Milvus, pgvector, or Elasticsearch vector search.
• Experience with React or Vue for AI-facing user interfaces.
• Experience with AI agent frameworks, MCP, or AI-assisted development tools.
• Personal or open-source AI projects and prototypes.
• Proficiency in Mandarin.
