AI & Creative Technology Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Research, test, and assess emerging AI and creative technologies for video, animation, images, audio, editing, and interactive storytelling.
• Develop AI-assisted workflows for storyboarding, previsualization, historical environments, animation, motion graphics, visual effects, and other media assets.
• Build internal applications, scripts, plugins, dashboards, and API integrations that improve production workflows and make AI capabilities accessible to nontechnical colleagues.
• Automate footage logging, transcription, captioning, media organization, versioning, asset retrieval, localization preparation, and delivery while maintaining appropriate human review.
• Integrate AI services and custom tools with creative software and production systems, ensuring reliable, documented, cost-conscious workflows.
• Collaborate with producers, editors, animators, designers, and researchers; establish quality safeguards, document tools, train colleagues, and evaluate solutions by time saved, cost, consistency, reliability, and creative quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience in creative technology, software development, technical artistry, media-pipeline engineering, or workflow automation; a strong portfolio may substitute for a conventional career path.
• Ability to build and maintain tools using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or comparable languages, including integrations with APIs, webhooks, and third-party services.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI tools and models for at least two of video, images, audio, animation, language, or visual effects, including the ability to evaluate their limitations and strengths.
• Familiarity with professional media workflows and creative software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, or comparable tools.
• Experience prototyping user-friendly internal applications, managing structured data, troubleshooting technical issues, and using version control.
• Strong visual judgment and appreciation for storytelling, composition, motion, consistency, and production quality.
• Ability to make prototypes dependable through testing, error handling, documentation, cost awareness, and attention to data security.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially when translating technical concepts for creative teammates in a remote environment.
• Passion for Yaqeen's mission and commitment to editorial integrity, scholarly rigor, and thoughtful use of emerging technology.

Nice to have

• Experience with node-based AI workflows such as ComfyUI, VFX/3D pipelines, model customization, media asset management, analytics, or cloud deployment.

Hiring process

• Complete a 1–2-page workflow proposal based on an existing Yaqeen video or series, explaining the challenge, proposed solution, technical approach, quality safeguards, and success measures.
• A working prototype is optional; confidential materials and paid subscriptions should not be used.
