Field Application Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, based out of Malaysia, with regular travel throughout Southeast Asia and travel to customer sites for installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept delivery.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical bridge between customers across Southeast Asia and internal sales, product, engineering, research, and business development teams.
• Understand AI and machine learning workloads and guide technical evaluations, demonstrations, proof-of-concept delivery, deployments, and production adoption.
• Design scalable AI solutions and deploy applications in cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and physically install, move, and repair servers, accelerator cards, and PCIe devices.
• Translate complex AI/ML hardware and software concepts into recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Help establish regional service capabilities and support the growth of the Southeast Asia office.

Requirements

• Customer-focused technical experience building trust with application developers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.
• Proactive, self-directed problem-solving skills and the ability to coordinate internal teams, external service providers, and customer stakeholders across Southeast Asia.
• 5+ years of working experience with both hardware and software technology around AI.
• Experience as a Field Application Engineer, Application Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or in a similar customer-facing technical role focused on AI/ML software and hardware.
• Strong Python programming skills and deep familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience designing scalable AI solutions, deploying applications in cloud environments, and physically installing, moving, and repairing servers, accelerator cards, and PCIe devices.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites across Southeast Asia.
• Eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; employment may depend on citizenship, permanent residency, or prior license approval under U.S. export laws.

Nice to have

• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, vision models, model deployment, training, or fine-tuning.
• Experience with C++, CUDA, parallel programming, or kernel development.
• Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Malay.
