Manufacturing Software Developer (Manufacturing)

Location: Malaysia, Penang. Full-time, day shift; occasional travel required.

What you will do

• Gather and analyze manufacturing and supply chain requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design, develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot shopfloor, supply chain, full-stack, database, analytics, and workflow applications.
• Lead digital solution projects from planning through implementation, coordinating stakeholders and managing scope, risks, and timelines.
• Automate data collection and retrieval, integrate and transform complex datasets, and deliver actionable insights.
• Provide operational support, resolve issues, and ensure application reliability and minimal downtime.
• Apply data governance, cybersecurity, regulatory, architecture, and scalability practices; mentor less experienced engineers through code reviews or design oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline and at least five years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with full-stack software development, software development lifecycle practices, modern data platforms, and data integration workflows.
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying data pipelines and business intelligence solutions for manufacturing or supply chain applications.
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks, including SQL, Python, JavaScript, C#, Visual Basic, ASP.NET, React, or comparable technologies.
• Practical experience with ETL tools, Microsoft Fabric or comparable data integration platforms, and RESTful API development or integration.
• Experience designing, developing, or supporting relational and non-relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Working knowledge of Qlik Sense, Power BI, Grafana, business intelligence and visualization platforms, and manufacturing software applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead projects independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Self-motivated, innovative, results-oriented, able to learn new technologies quickly, and experienced in delivering complex projects.
