Associate Professor or Professor of Psychology and Division Chair of Social and Behavioral Sciences (Psychology)

Location: Texarkana, Texas; willingness to relocate to the Texarkana region is required. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Lead the Social and Behavioral Sciences Division across Criminal Justice, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology programs.
• Supervise, evaluate, mentor, and support the professional development of faculty and staff.
• Manage divisional planning, budgets, staffing, course scheduling, recruitment, and day-to-day operations.
• Lead curriculum development, assessment, accreditation activities, compliance, and program improvement.
• Teach six semester credit hours in each fall and spring semester and maintain an active scholarly or research agenda.
• Support student success, advising, recruitment, community partnerships, experiential learning, and University service.

Requirements

• Earned Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology, or Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, from a regionally accredited institution.
• Scholarly and professional credentials meeting the University’s requirements for appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
• Active scholarship and an ongoing research agenda.
• Experience supervising faculty or staff, supporting professional growth, and fostering a collaborative academic culture.
• Commitment to collaborative leadership, collegiality, and student success.
• Working knowledge of state and federal requirements applicable to higher education.
• Willingness to relocate to the Texarkana region.
• Authorization to work for any employer in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Ability to travel, work outside regular business hours when necessary, exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality.
