Associate Professor/Professor & Endowed Division Chair, Business Division

Location: Texarkana, Texas, United States; applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not offered. The role requires travel and work beyond normal office hours.

What you will do

• Lead and administer the Business Division, reporting to the Dean and advising the Dean and Provost on academic matters.
• Supervise, evaluate, recruit, appoint, and support faculty, staff, adjunct faculty, and student assistants.
• Manage divisional budgets, course schedules, records, committees, student concerns, and operational planning.
• Lead curriculum development, academic program reviews, accreditation activities, assessment, and new program initiatives.
• Maintain teaching effectiveness, scholarly productivity, and an active role in teaching, research, and service.
• Build relationships with campus units and the community, including internship sites and outreach activities.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Accounting, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics, I/O Psychology, or a related program from an AACSB-accredited or R1 institution.
• Qualifications meeting TAMUT expectations for tenure and rank.
• Demonstrated commitment to collaborative leadership and the ability to foster a collegial, supportive, and student-centered academic environment.
• Track record of excellence in teaching, including online teaching, across courses in the candidate’s discipline.
• Evidence of an active, ongoing research agenda.
• Demonstrated experience leading faculty and staff, supporting professional growth, and fostering a collaborative departmental culture.
• Knowledge of state and federal guidelines applicable to higher education.
• Authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice to have

• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in higher education.
• At least 1 year as a division or department chair, or 2 years as an assistant chair.
• Experience leading program development from idea to implementation.
• Proven innovation in teaching or service.

• 12-month, tenured faculty appointment with tenure on arrival pending approval by the Texas A&M University System.
